Our Story

We are a for-profit social enterprise built to empower Bhutan’s nomadic herders by connecting them directly to consumers. Every purchase helps herders diversify their income, preserve their culture, and keep the next generation engaged in yak herding traditions.

Origins

Yaks are more than animals: they are lifelines

High above the valleys of Bhutan, life follows a rhythm shaped by the land, the seasons, and the yak. Here, nomadic herders—known locally as Brokpas—move with their herds through alpine meadows, living in harmony with nature as their ancestors have for centuries.

I’m an entrepreneur passionate about building Bhutanese food and wellness ventures. Currently, I promote Lanor Yak Creamery (2025), after co-founding and leading Serkar Dairy Pvt. Ltd. (2021–2024).
